How a BBL creates curve
Step 1
Sculpt
Lipo 360 removes fat from the abdomen, flanks, and back to narrow and define the waist.
Step 2
Prepare
The harvested fat is processed so that healthy fat is ready for transfer.
Step 3
Transfer
Fat is placed only in the layer above the gluteal muscle, under ultrasound guidance, to shape the buttocks and hips.
BBL safety
Read Florida Statute 458.328 ↗
Five standards, every BBL
✓
Above the muscle only
Fat is injected only into the subcutaneous layer, never into or beneath the gluteal muscle.
✓
Ultrasound guidance
Real-time ultrasound confirms the cannula stays in the safe layer while fat is placed.
✓
Performed by the surgeon
Dr. Alameddine personally performs the fat removal and the fat transfer.
✓
One patient at a time
He does not begin or work on another patient’s procedure during your BBL.
✓
Examined in person beforehand
An in-person examination no later than the day before surgery, in a QUAD A–accredited center.
Before you choose a surgeon
1
Is fat placed only above the muscle?
2
Do you use ultrasound guidance during the fat transfer?
3
Will you personally perform the liposuction and fat transfer?
4
Will you operate on only me during my procedure?
5
Is the surgery center accredited?
6
Are you trained in plastic surgery, and will you examine me in person before surgery?
Is a BBL right for me?
Healthy, at a stable weight, a non-smoker, with enough fat to harvest from the waist, flanks, or back, and a goal of natural-looking curve.
Slimmer patients may still be candidates for a smaller-volume BBL, with the amount limited by the fat available.
If the goal is a defined waist rather than added projection, Lipo 360 alone may be the better plan, from $9,500 or $8,500 awake.
Explore Lipo 360 →
Fat transfer can soften the indentation at the side of the hips, as part of a BBL or with Lipo 360 and fat transfer to the hips from $11,500.
Recovery
Stage 1
The first week
Soreness and swelling, mainly in the liposuction areas, with a compression garment. Walking starts early, and direct pressure on the buttocks is limited.
Stage 2
Around two weeks
Many patients return to desk work, following sitting and positioning instructions.
Stage 3
Weeks three to eight
Exercise resumes gradually after clearance, and garment wear continues as instructed.
Stage 4
Three to six months
Swelling resolves, some fat is naturally reabsorbed, and the final shape becomes clear.
BBL surgery carries risks, including bleeding, infection, fluid collections, contour irregularities, asymmetry, fat reabsorption, numbness, blood clots, anesthesia-related complications, and, rarely, fat embolism. Your individual risks and prevention plan are discussed before surgery.
